An endangered shy monkey was released in Matiranga forest of Khagrachhari district. Matiranga upazila Nirbahi officer Daisy Chatruvarty released the forest adjacent to the Matiranga range office at around 11 am on yesterday. Matiranga Upazila Range Officer, Ataur Rahman Laskar, Matiranga Range Forester Tauhidur Rahman, Forester, Akkach Ali were present during the time.
Matiranga Upazila Executive Officer Daisy Chatruvarty said, that due to the destruction of forests and trees, many times they come out to the locality in search of food and are caught by the locals and lose their lives. To protect these wild animals, besides protecting the environment, the locals must also be made aware.
