Riva’s Hidden Trade at Eden, Families are worried

Capital‍‍`s Eden Women‍‍`s College has been in controversy for a few days. There has been clashes between the followers of Eden Chhatra League President Tamanna Jasmine Riva-Razia Sultana and the rebel leaders. The latest committee was suspended and in the name of ordinary students, Riva followers formed a human chain in the campus.

For and the Hidden Trade of Riva and some students of Eden College, the reputation of the educational institution is eroded, while other students suffer socially. Meanwhile, the family members are worried about the future of their child.

Incidentally, BCL leader Jannatul Ferdaus spoke to the media about various issues including seat trade of Eden BCL president and general secretary. After that torture came down on her. As the incident of torture came to light, there was anger among the common students. Later on Sunday (September 25) they took out a procession in the campus.

After that, on September 27, the students covered their face and formed a human chain in Eden College under the banner of ordinary students. However, according to the sources, the students who kept their identities hidden were the followers of President Tamanna Jasmine Riva and general secretary Razia Sultana.

The protesters demanded the punishment of the expelled leaders of the Chhatra League. They also demanded that there should be evidence of the allegations made by the ousted leaders. The image of the institution has been tarnished due to these allegations. Apart from this, ordinary students also have to face various problems.

Talking to a student who participated in the human chain, it is known that the room in which she lives is Eden College Chhatra League General Secretary Razia Sultana‍‍`s room No. 309. A source of Eden College Chhatra League said that the student is a follower of Razia Sultana.

A student named Aisharja Malakar is also seen leading this human chain. She lives in room number 204 of Razia Hall. That room is under the control of Eden College Chhatra League president Tamanna Jasmine Riva.

Also, according to confidential sources, there were many others in the human chain, who were not students of Eden College. Still they are staying illegally under the leadership of Tamanna Jasmine Riva.

Attempts were made to contact Tamanna Jasmine Riva to discuss the matter but she could not be contacted.

Later, when tried to talk to Razia Sultana, she could not be contacted either. Even none of the other Eden students agreed to speak to any of the media personnel.

All these allegations are not new at all. All such complaints have been heard many times before. Even many former students of Eden have reported their horrific experiences in the past.

A former student of Eden Women‍‍`s College named Liza Akhter Hossain claims that such incidents are not new.

In a post on her Facebook, Liza said that the image of the college that is currently appearing in television and press news is very old. She had to face such a scene often. Liza mentioned the environment of the college as horrible.

This former student wrote on Facebook, ‍‍`I am speaking from Eden. I could never talk openly about my educational institution to friends or relatives or corporate.

Excluding the exam period, I have attended classes for 15 to 20 days only. With the help of one or two classmates, I used to take update about the class and during the exam, I would only give the exam.

I didn‍‍`t want to put pressure on the parents to run the private expenses. So I tried to continue my studies by quietly accepting the hardships. We used to see what you see on TV news today.

In a horrible environment, especially in the hall. Forcing girls into politics and doing politics is the teaching here. It is as if a factory is being opened to make team members”.

Liza wrote in the post that she would have choked after seeing this. This former student wrote at the end of his post, ‍‍`I found two pictures of the last day I went to college. Now I understand why there is no name of any university of Bangladesh in the top 1000.

Also allegations that Tamanna Jasmin Riva forced the students to join the meeting procession were also proved. After a related voice recording was leaked, she admitted her guilt and apologized in front of the public. Therefore, the question remains whether the students are being forced to make human chains.

Meanwhile, many ordinary students are facing various problems with these. Parents are also socially stigmatized. Recently trolls and funny videos about Eden are going viral on social media Facebook, which is just for fun but in reality the picture is very much relatable.

According to the parents of the students studying in Eden, many of them are in trouble with the marriage of their girls. Parents are worried whether they have made a mistake by enrolling their child in this institution.

Socially, many students are accused of engaging in anti-social activities just because the are studying at Eden. So the family is putting extra pressure on the children. But most of the victims are innocent or they were forced to do these things.
