Salman F Rahman‍‍`s efforts make Dohar-Nawabganj modern

Bangladesh Awami League (AL) President Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman has been elected MP of Doha's Nawabganj Upazila. Muslims, Hindus and Christians are living together in this town called Dohar and Nawabganj, enlightened by the light of non-communal spirit. There is no communal strife and religious frenzy.

It was known that peace and development are going together in Dohar and Nawabganj. There is no land, house and house possession. This town, which was once scarred by drug and terrorist attacks, has now opened its doors to possibilities. Being a 100 percent electrified area, now on its way to becoming a modern suburb.

After the AL government came to power in the state, the road communication system has been greatly improved in Dohar and Nawabganj upazilas. As a result, the government has promised that the village will become a city - this plan is busy expanding the facilities of the city in the outlying areas.

Farmers of this agriculturally oriented area can sell their produce from the village to the city port very quickly. By doing this, their economic development has increased more than before.

On the other hand, due to educationist Salman F Rahman MP's overall support and government education scholarship, the education rate of children and women has increased in this region. Social evils like child marriage and dowry are also about to end. Local people believe that this township will be transformed into a model upazila if essential consumer goods such as gas move to this region. Being a 100 percent electrified region, every village is now lit up with electricity and most of the houses have WiFi connectivity, thus the villages of Dohar-Nawabganj are moving towards the Smart Village of Smart Bangladesh.

There are 130 primary schools and about 40 secondary schools in Nawabganj. There are several private colleges in Dohar and Nawabganj upazilas besides two government colleges. Independent Ibtedayi madrasas and maktab-based educational institutions have developed, including Dakhil madrasas. Local residents believe that remittances sent by expatriates are playing a major role in social change in Nawabganj and Dohar.

Currently Dohar Upazila Health Complex hospital authorities are working to ensure normal delivery along with various modern maternity services. Once she had to be taken to a hospital in the capital Dhaka due to labor pains. That problem is no more. Various medical tests including surgery are now possible from these centers.

Besides, there are several government community clinics in each union. In Nawabganj, 51-bed government hospital is receiving government medical services day and night, Nawabganj and neighboring districts including Dohar, Singair are receiving public health services.

With the help of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman MP, many landless families have officially received their addresses and their homes. Hundreds of thousands of people have received tubewells from various government institutions, including mosques, madrasas, temples, churches, and educational institutions.

Regarding the development of village people, Bangladesh Krishak League vice-president Md Abul Hossain said, since Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's industry and investment adviser Salman F Rahman was elected MP of Dohar-Nawabganj upazila, it is now being transformed into a modern upazila with the touch of development.

Nawabganj Upazila AL President Sholla Union Parishad Chairman Mizanur Rahman Bhuia Kismat said that new business establishments have been established in this region inhabited by expatriates. Apart from this, there is a great interest among students studying in schools and colleges regarding computer training in the development of IT sector.

Salman F Rahman, the current MP of Doha-Nawabganj, before the election, the main demand of the people of the area was to take effective and sustainable measures to prevent the erosion of the Padma. Because for several generations, thousands of people of Padmapar have become victims of erosion. But to alleviate the suffering of people of Dohar and Nawabganj, local MP Salman F. Rahman took a mega project to prevent the erosion of Padmani river and to manage Padmani river with the support of the Prime Minister to make the impossible task possible.
