Two of Shamrat Bahini arrested with weapon

 

District Intelligence Police arrested two active members of Samrat Bahini who fled to India along with a one-shooter gun in a special operation in Rajbari.

Md Moniruzzaman Khan District Intelligence Branch Officer-in-Charge (OC) confirmed the information yesterday afternoon. The arrested are Dwig Bijoy Mandal (20), son of Biswajit Mandal of Naora Ban village of Sarisha Union of Pangsha Upazila, and Md Mamun Sheikh (23), son of Md Farid Sheikh of Chhota Nurpur village of Rajbari Sadar Upazila.

OC Md Moniruzzaman Khan said that based on secret information, a team led by SI Md Hasanur Rahman of the district intelligence branch conducted an operation in Sarisha Khamardanga village of Pangas last Wednesday evening. Dwig Bijoy and Md Mamun Sheikh were arrested from the Bangabandhu Govt College Campus area in the raid. An iron-made domestic active one-shooter gun was seized from them. Both of them are active members of terrorist Shamrat forces who are on the run from India.

He said that the arrested persons had been carrying out various terrorist activities including extortion by threatening the common people with weapons in the Pangsha police station area and surrounding areas on the orders of Shamrat. Consequently, they were stationed there with arms to dominate the Shamrat Bahini. There is another arms case against the arrested accused Md Mamun Sheikh. A case has been filed at Pangsha police station in this regard. They were sent to Rajbari court yesterday.
