Abduction for extortion claimed in name of student coordinator

Md. Amirul Islam (53), a first-class government contractor, alleged that a gang nam of student coordinators kidnapped him for extortion.

On Tuesday, at approximately 1:30 pm, when Amirul Islam was leaving his house, Jhilpar, Kalyanpur, Notun Bazar, to his son‍‍`s madrasa by Rickshwa, they introduced themself as a police officer and immediately held his hand and said that there is a case against him in Mirpur Model Police Station.

They also said that the officer-in-charge (OC) has asked him to go. While trying to confirm their identity, they forcibly lifted him onto a motorbike they were riding in as a film style and headed towards Mirpur Model Police Station.

Suddenly, they took him away from the Ansar camp on the motorcycle and took him towards Bishil area. Then they kidnapped him in that room on the 9th floor of the building next to the roof. 

There, they forcibly took his mobile phone and money bag. He do not know any of them. And they demanded Tk 3 to 5 crore from him. They all beat him up a lot. They forced him to sign 2 blank check sheets and sign 3 stamps. They beat him and torture him for about 6 hours.

They claimed that he is an Awami League leader and a fascist. They wanted to kill him by throwing him from the roof. They beat him with rods, bamboo bales. And 3 people recorded the video together. If the money is not paid, he would has to write all his assets belong to their name.

After, he was rescued from there by his partner’s grandson, Jamil Taj. He is getting a little sick physically. He would file a case at Mirpur Model Police Station as the suggestion of lawyer and phycisian.

When called to know details about this incident, Jamil Taj declined to disclose their identity.

Sources confirmed that the gang members were Refatul Haque Shawon, Sadman, Abdullah.

Although, they have picture with former adviser Nahid Islam in their social profiles, Zahid Hasan, secretary of students wing of National Citizen Party (NCP) denied any connection with their party.
