BNP General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that BNP rally will be held at Naya Paltan instead of Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on December 10. He said this while addressing the chief guest at BNP`s public meeting at Comilla Town Hall grounds on Saturday (November 26) afternoon.
Expressing the hope of forming a national government with all political parties, Mirza Fakhrul said that there will be no elections in this country before the resignation of Sheikh Hasina. There will be no elections without a caretaker government. Parliament should be dissolved before elections. Elections will be held under the Election Commission by forming a new Election Commission.
He said the illegal prime minister, forced the election twice. No one went to vote in 2014, 154 of them won before the election. Voting ended at night in 2018. Will he be re-elected? Will you vote for it again? They also know that there will be no bail if there is a vote. So want to go back to the previous strategy. But it won`t. With you, we will create a more violent movement and force the government to resign. Then we will form a people`s government.
Regarding Awami League`s public meeting, Mirza Fakhrul said that the Prime Minister held a public meeting in Jessore, took all state facilities and sought votes from the people there, saying that he voted again by boat. Hearing this, I remembered Abbas Uddin`s song `If I had known before, I would not have boarded your broken boat.` People of this country have also started singing that song. Forget it, the people of the country no longer want it. To have time means to leave. Otherwise the result will not be good.
He said that the country was made free by fighting for life. After 50 years of independence, we have to fight for our right to vote. They don`t want to vote directly. Because there will be no deposit if there is a vote. That`s why they started plotting.
They will be in power, they will be ministers-MPs, and we will vote. That`s why the problem started again. There has been a case of disappearance again. The headlines are in the newspaper. It`s called the cocktail explosion. But the public says we didn`t listen. They have horns like rhinoceros. The shameless government has gone mad.
He said that a case has already been filed to thwart the mass gathering in Dhaka. Our rally could not be stopped by doing this, it will not be done. The rally cannot be stopped in Dhaka-Rajshahi either. We are clear. We are doing peaceful movement for rights. You are naming the opposition party-BNP by arson.
A case has been filed in the name of BNP after the arson attack by Chhatra League in Chittagong. The same thing happened in Comilla. Hero-Humayun of Comilla is missing. Their children don`t get a father. Children`s eyes deceive, we cannot comfort. Ilyas of Sylhet has gone missing.
The Secretary General of BNP said that the Prime Minister said a few days ago, have we chewed up the reserve? I say - Rirzab you did not chew, you swallowed. He ate everything, smuggled billions of dollars and sent them abroad. Thousands of crores of rupees have been smuggled abroad from Bangladesh in the last 10 years. They have smuggled 78 thousand crore rupees for electricity in 1 year.
How much has the price of electricity increased? We are disoriented to pay the price. Octane, diesel increase onion prices. Everything is growing nuts. Income did not increase. But their income increases. They are swelling. One has 10 houses from 4 houses. Our common people cannot eat two handfuls every day. Our mothers and sisters are not able to feed even an egg to their children.
Referring to the instructions of BNP Senior Vice Chairman Tarek Rahman, he said, our leader has called from 8 thousand miles away to take back Bangladesh. Which Bangladesh? The Bangladesh we dreamed of. I made the country independent by dreaming. The people of our country can live happily and peacefully, that is Bangladesh. But this government has not kept anything anywhere.
Justice is not available. Sentenced with false case. There are 50/60 cases against our leaders present here. Our leader Begum Khaleda Zia has been detained in a false case. Senior Vice Chairman Tariq Rahman has been sentenced in a false case, he cannot come to the country.
