Those who did not go to the families of the martyrs and those who suffered injuries and disabilities are the ones who want elections before the genocide trial
Fundamental reforms of the state and genocide trials must be ensured for fruitful elections
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami`s Central Working Committee member and Naib-e-Ameer of Dhaka Metropolitan South, Advocate Dr. Helal Uddin, said that if you stand against the people`s opinion, you will have to face the consequences of the Awami League.
Therefore, he called on all political parties to do the politics expected by the people. At the time, he also said that those who did not go to the families of the martyrs and those who suffered injuries and disabilities are the ones who want elections before the genocide trial. Jamaat-e-Islami has given a cash gift of 2 lakh taka to each martyr`s family. At that time, it knew the suffering and expectations of each martyr`s family. The families of the martyrs and injured, and disabled people demand that the elections be held after ensuring fundamental reforms of the state and justice for the genocide. Otherwise, the dreams and spirit of the July fighters will not be realized.
He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at the Eid reunion rally of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Shahbagh East Police Station on Monday night.
He called on the interim government to first organize local government elections and then national parliament elections using the PR method, demanding that the state ensure fundamental reforms and justice for the genocide for a fruitful election. Stating that Jamaat-e-Islami has no alternative to build a corruption-free golden Bangladesh, Dr. Helal Uddin said that there is no allegation of corruption in the political history of Jamaat-e-Islami. Former Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Shahid Maulana Matiur Rahman Nizami and former Secretary General Shahid Ali Ahsan Mujahid served as ministers of 3 ministries. Not a single penny of corruption was committed in those three ministries during their tenure. They did not commit corruption, nor did they allow anyone under them to commit corruption. The ideal of Jamaat-e-Islami is to establish a happy, prosperous, non-discriminatory welfare and humane state by building an Islamic society.
He called on the countrymen to come forward under the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami to build that state.
The main speaker of the rally, Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud, Central Working Committee Member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan South, said, the mass uprising has taken place to build a grave for the politics of consumption. The bigger the party, the bigger the sacrifices they should make. Yet they say with complacency, we are a big party, our leaders and activists will create some problems. He said, the role of the big party needed to be bigger. Sheikh Hasina still says, if we get another chance, we will wipe out the Jamaat-e-Shibir! Because we have fallen because of them. Yet other parties themselves were the masterminds of the July mass uprising. And again, the leader who is living a safe and prosperous life abroad, is being claimed to be the mastermind of the July mass uprising.
He further said that the July mass uprising not only overthrew Sheikh Hasina but also laid the grave of hegemony. The students and the public have accepted the July movement as a second freedom movement to free the people from the shackles of slavery. Stating that the politics of dynastic rule is not the politics of the welfare of the people, Dr. Masud said that just as Sheikh Hasina has run away with her family by doing dynastic politics, she has left her leaders and activists behind. Those who still do dynastic politics will also run away with their leaders and activists behind. They have lived a safe and prosperous life abroad for the past 17 years. The nation knows what role they played in freeing the nation from fascism.
Therefore, he urged the political parties to avoid the politics of pressure and to do politics for the welfare of the people and the state, instead of trying to deceive the people.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Shahbagh East Thana Ameer Ahsan Habib presided over the rally held at the Rajdhani BM Auditorium, while Metropolitan Working Committee Member and Paltan Thana Ameer Shahin Ahmed Khan and Metropolitan Assistant Publicity Secretary Abdus Sattar Sumon spoke as special guests. Among others, Ward No. 13 Councilor candidate Abdur Rob, prominent businessman Abdul Quader, Paltan Citizen Forum President Obaidullah, Shahbagh East Thana Baitulmal Secretary Kamruzzaman, Shahbagh East Thana Office Secretary Mokhlesur Rahman, Shahbagh East Thana Shura and Working Committee members Rahmat Ullah Farazi, Maulana Abdur Razzak, Ali Hossain Sumon, among others, spoke.
