No ending of suffering of public life in the ongoing heatwave in the country. Normal activities are being disrupted due to intense heat. As a result, the working people who depend on daily income are in extreme misery as there is a shortage of work.

Meanwhile, from rural life to city life, there is a yell for rain everywhere. Long queues of patients are increasing in hospitals and clinics due to heat. All educational institutions in the country have been closed. Heat alert has been issued in the country for the third time in a row.

Besides, heatstroke deaths are occurring in many places. At least 20 people have died in the last five days in the ongoing heatwave in the country. In Chapainawabganj, a traffic inspector named Ruhul Amin died due to heat yesterday.

According to the latest data from the Meteorological Department, the incidence of heat is not decreasing suddenly. The heatwave sweeping over most parts of the country may continue for few more days. Discomfort may increase due to an excess of water vapor. A severe heatwave is sweeping over 16 districts of the country.

Met office meteorologist Md Shahinul Islam said that rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with scattered hailstorms at places over the country. Weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country. A severe heatwave is sweeping over Khulna division, Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Rajshahi, Pabna, Faridpur and Gopalganj districts. Mild to moderate heatwave is sweeping over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions and the regions of Mymensingh, Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni and Bandarban and it may continue.

Meanwhile, Meteorological Department said that there is no possibility of rain in other parts of the country except Sylhet region for the next two days. At the same time, the temperature may rise slightly during this time. Meanwhile, the highest temperature of 42.2 degrees Celsius was recorded in Jashore and Chuadanga yesterday. The maximum temperature in Dhaka rose to 39.1 degrees Celsius at noon.

Earlier on April 20, the highest temperature of the country was recorded at 42.6 degrees Celsius in Jashore. This was the highest temperature of the season. On that day, the day temperature was 42.4 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga and 42 degrees Celsius in Pabna's Ishwardi. The maximum temperature in Dhaka was 40.4 degrees Celsius. After that, the temperature dropped slightly and the extreme heatwave was eliminated, but there was no relief in the public life.
