Prof. Dr. Md. Jamal Uddin Bhuyian has been appointed as the sixth Vice-Chancellor of Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU) for four years.
On Monday(November 21) Mst. Roksana Begum, the deputy secretary of the ministry of education, issued a circular containing this information. According to Section 10 (1) of the Sylhet Agricultural University Act, 2006. Dr. Md. Jamal Uddin Bhuyian, Professor of the Parasitology Department of the Sylhet Agricultural University, will serve as Vice-Chancellor of the said University for 4 years starting on the date of his appointment.
Prior to this, on September 27, Professor Dr. Md. Matiar Rahman Howlader four-year period as SAU` s fifth Vice-Chancellor comes to an end. The convener of the Dean`s Council, Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Hasan Khan was then given additional responsibilities on October 3 while serving as the university`s Vice-Chancellor up until the appointment of the next Vice-Chancellor.
Professor and Syndicate Member of the Faculty of Veterinary, Animal and Biomedical Sciences at Sylhet Agricultural University, Prof. Dr. Md. Jamal Uddin Bhuiyan monitors the department of parasitology (SAU). Additionally, has previously held a number of significant academic and administrative positions, including those of University Registrar, Director of Student Counseling and Guidance Office, Dean, Director of Veterinary Clinic, Director of Physical Education Department and Farm, and Additional Director of Quality Assurance Cell.
He participates actively in a number of professional and charitable organizations, such as the Bangabandhu Foundation, the Krishibid Institution, and the Bangabandhu Shishu Kishore Mela.
Additionally, as the founding president of Krishnachura Cultural association, a group involved in cultural activities at Sylhet Agricultural University. Prof. Dr. Md. Jamal Uddin Bhuiyan has been actively involved in the management of cultural activities up until this point.
