On August 3, 2025, a new leadership was elected with the active participation of the members in an extended meeting held at the conference room of Hotel Victory Limited in Naya Paltan, Dhaka, the capital.
Most members of the organization agreed to form this new committee as a protest against the irregularities of the long-standing, unstructured, and unregistered single leadership.
The desired change has come to the leadership of the organization with the formation of a new committee in the "Bayra Member Welfare Council", a united platform of representatives of manpower exporting organizations. Various circles related to expatriate employment in the country are welcoming and congratulating this newly formed committee.
Those in the new leadership, Haji Md Jamal Hossain has been elected as President, Secretary General, Md. Kabir Hossain, Senior Vice President, Hasan Mahmud Majumder as Organizing Secretary, Monowarul Islam Monir as Finance Secretary, Md. Barek Ali, Publicity Secretary, as Abdul Qayyum.
President Haji Md. Jamal Hossain said, “This organization is not of any individual, but rather a collective platform of all members. We pledge—democracy, transparency, and member welfare will be the main foundation of our path.”
Secretary General Md. Kabir Hossain said, “We will build a modern, registered, and effective organization by respecting the opinions of every member. For this, the constitution formulation, registration process, and transparent election system will be introduced soon.”
Priority plan for restructuring the organization: Create a complete database of members, formulate organizational structure, and register with the Department of Social Services, Legal assistance, visa advice, and skills training for members, ensure active participation of members in immigration policy, launch an information-based web portal on the expatriate labor market.
The general members said, “We believe that this new committee is not only the leadership, but also the beginning of a groundbreaking path. Together, we want to turn this organization into a model platform for expatriate welfare.”
This initiation of the new leadership of the Bayra Member Welfare Council proves that bold changes in leadership and the right path are very important to maintain good governance, accountability, and respect for members in the expatriate employment sector.
