A Dhaka court placed 10 more suspects on remand in connection with the bank robbery in Ruma and Thanchi.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Court Judge Md Nurul Haque passed the order after hearing the bail petition.
The defendants are Vanlal Kim Bom (30), Sairaj Bom (25), Rual Komlian Bom (55), Gilbert Bom (19), Tiam Bom (44), Lian Noai Thang Bom (20), Nal Thon Bom (55), Penal Bom (65), Lal Moon Lian Bom (28), and Jashua Bom (45). They are all residents of the Bethel neighborhood in Ruma.
According to court sources, the joint forces arrested 78 people in connection with the robbery and looting of arms and robbery of Sonali and Krishi Bank in Ruma and Thanchi upazilas. After the arrest, they were produced before the court and the law enforcers applied for a two-day remand and the court granted remand. At the end of two days of remand, the court ordered to send 10 KNF members to jail.
Meanwhile, 78 people, including 22 women, were sent to jail after showing arrest in nine cases filed over bank robbery, arms looting and abduction in Ruma and Thanchi on suspicion of their involvement in the KNF.
Court police's General Registration Officer (GRO) Biswajit Singh confirmed the matter and said the court ordered to send 10 KNF members to jail after they were produced before the court after two days of remand.
