The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) raided the Feni regional passport office. The operation was conducted last Thursday afternoon on allegations of bribery.
According to the related sources, a team of enforcement units from the head office of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and the integrated Noakhali district office simultaneously seized some mobile phones belonging to the officers and employees of the Regional A Passport Office.
In this regard, ACC Noakhali office sources confirmed the matter and said that another enforcement operation was conducted by the Anti-Corruption Commission, Integrated District Office of Noakhali, against the officials and employees of the Regional Passport Office of Feni, in the wake of complaints of customer harassment and demand for bribes in providing passport services.
During the operation, the enforcement team got prima facie evidence of the connivance of brokers with some employees of the said office. Some mobile phones related to the complaint were seized for further analysis in this regard. A full report will be submitted to the commission after analyzing the data of the seized mobile.
