Meherpur's Gangni police station arrested 5 drug dealers in a raid. 115 bottles of phensedyl and 400 grams of weed were recovered from them. Tk1500 cash in cash and a motorcycle used in drug dealing have also been seized. Separate teams of the police conducted several raids and arrested them on Thursday night. They were Swapan (38) son of Chader Ali, Liton (40) son of Ayub Ali, Khalid Mahmud (30) son of deceased Suja Uddin of Palashi Para, Swajal (27) son of Altaf Hossain of Chatian village, Mamunar Rashid (30) son of Nazrul Islam of Chuadanga district. Subject to the filing of a case against them, they were arrested in that case and sent to the Meherpur court. Gangni police station OC Tajul Islam said, Gangni police station conducted an operation to prevent drug trafficking.
Meanwhile, 105 bottles of phensedyl were recovered from Swapan and Liton from Karamdi village, 10 bottles of phensedyl were recovered from Khalid Mahmudon the road of Hinda village and a Johnsen motorcycle used for drug transportation, and Tk1500 of drug sales were seized. Apart from this, 400 grams of weed were recovered from Mamunor Rashid and Bamandi Bazar road from Baot village road. They arrested in that case along with the case against the arrested and sent to Meherpur court. The OC also said that the campaign will continue.
