Kabiraj hacked to death in Ctg

 

A ‘Kabiraj’ was hacked to death on suspicion of making amulets to family members in Chattogram.

The incident took place at Nuru Sawdagar's tea shop in Kanchannagar Malek Shah Bazar on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Nur Hossain Baidya (80), son of late Nasr Zaman of South Kanchannagar Mohammad Para area of Fatikchhari.

Meanwhile, the killer was identified as Abu Taher (60), son of late Zahur Ahmed Sawdagar of South Kanchannagar Mohammad Para area. He was arrested by the police after the incident.

It was known that Abu Taher hacked Nur Hossain while he was having tea in the shop. Later, locals rescued and took him to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

According to locals, the deceased Nur Hossain was a Kabiraj by profession. It is believed that Abu Taher hacked him to death on suspicion of making amulets for the accused and his family members. The accused is also mentally unstable.

Fatikchhari Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mir Mohammad Nurul Huda said Abu Taher was arrested. The body will be handed over to the family after the legal process.
