People suffer from severe load-shedding

In Hossainpur of Kishoreganj, people of different classes and occupations are fed up due to load shedding. Businessmen and students are suffering greatly. Apart from this, customers have to wait for a long time to withdraw money from the bank as the internet speed is low due to the effect of load shedding. This situation of load shedding is very serious, especially in rural areas. In many villages, consumers are not getting electricity for more than one hour in 24 hours. Many people, including Laden Mia of Shahedal village of the affected upazila, said that they did not get electricity for more than an hour on Thursday night and day.

In other areas of the Velkibaji upazila, there is a shortage of electricity. In this situation, people's lives are suffering due to load-shedding everywhere in Hossainpur. According to the zonal office of Hossainpur Palli Vidyut Samiti, the total demand for electricity in the summer season is 15 megawatts against 55 thousand customers for 6 unions and 1 municipal area of the upazila. There they are getting one-third of the demand. Of this, the demand in municipal areas is two and a half to three and a half megawatts.

Therefore, the substation authorities are not able to keep the 6 feeders of the upazila running simultaneously. In this regard, the Deputy General Manager (DGM) of the Zonal Office of Hossainpur Palli Vidyut Samity Ferdous Ahmed said that the electricity demand has increased due to the increasing intensity of heat and the irrigation season. As a result, the intensity of load shedding has also increased. Our demand is 15 MW but now we are getting 5-6 MW from the grid. However, he also commented that there will be no load shedding in Hossainpur if there is more capacity.
