Hundreds of families formed a human chain, protested and brought out a broom procession against land grabbers Akhter Hossain and Milon in Noakhali.
The human chain and protest procession was held in Gangchil Bazar in Charelahi union of Companiganj upazila yesterday morning. Hundreds of men and women of the area participated in it.
The victims of the human chain said that they have been living in the land of their ancestors near Gangchil Bazar for several decades. In the meantime, local land grabbers Akhter Hossain and Milon started to occupy the homesteads of hundreds of families. They bribed the officials and employees of the Zonal Settlement Office and recorded the VTs in the names of their family members and children. They are threatening to evict them from their land with terrorist forces. In this situation, helpless families are living in extreme fear.
The families of the victims sought the intervention of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader and demanded exemplary punishment of Akhter Hossain, the main mastermind of the land grabbing fraud.
Accused Akhter Hossain did not receive the phone despite being called several times to know about the allegations.
Later, hundreds of men and women took out a protest procession with brooms in the market.
