New trend of VDP adv course to create future social leaders

The closing ceremony of "VDP Advanced Course-2025 (1st)" was held in Narsingdi and Kishoreganj districts with due dignity at the initiative of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force.

The Director General (DG) of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force, Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud, SGP, BAM, NDU, AFWC, PSC, was the program‍‍`s chief guest.

At the exchange of views organized at Narsingdi District Ansar and VDP Training Center at 9:30 am and at Kishoreganj District Ansar and VDP Training Center at 12:30 pm, the DG gave a guiding speech to the participating VDP members.

In his speech, he said that the main objective of the VDP Advanced Course is to develop efficient and responsible leadership at the grassroots level and to motivate the members for self-employment.

He expressed hope that the trained members will contribute to the national economy on the one hand and play an important role in maintaining social stability and security at the local level on the other.

 The Director General highlighted the significance of this new training module called "VDP Advanced Course" as part of the ongoing reform activities of the force.

He further mentioned that in order to modernize the existing training structure of VDP, important topics including ‍‍`Community Alert Mechanism‍‍`, ‍‍`Entrepreneurship Development Strategy‍‍`, ‍‍`Youth Leadership Development‍‍` and ‍‍`Prevention of Cyber ​​Crime‍‍` have been included in the expanded module.

He also highlighted the ‘Sanjeevani’ program undertaken for the expansion of the force’s activities and member welfare, which is initially under the process of being launched in 116 upazilas of the country under the Ansar VDP Welfare Trust on a pilot basis. As there is an opportunity for the involvement of working and retired members under this program, it is considered a groundbreaking welfare step.

At the event, 162 VDP members who completed the training received training certificates from the Director General. At the same time, mementos were given to the members who secured first, second and third place in the training in recognition of their achievements. 

Md. Ashraful Alam, Deputy DG of Dhaka Range of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force, BAMS, concerned district commandants, and various officers and employees of the force were also present at the even.
