The country`s specialized public university, Bangladesh Maritime University (BMU) organized the "The July Mass Uprising Revival Program-2025, “Story Telling the July of the July Warriors" with due dignity on the 2nd day of the 2-day program on Thursday at the auditorium of the temporary campus of the university in Dhaka.
The Dean of the Faculty of Maritime Business Studies and Chairman of the Dean’s Committee, Commodore Md. Neamul Hasan, (L), BN, was present as the chief guest at the event.
The Treasurer, Registrar, Deans, Faculty Members, Officers, Employees, Students injured and participated directly in July Uprising, and other Students were present at the event.
The warriors of July Mass Uprising from Bangladesh Maritime University Kazi Waziullah Ikra, 4th Batch, Maritime Law and Policy, Md. Saad Islam Ruzan, 6th Batch, Oceanography and Hydrography, Shahriar Nirob, 5th Batch, Maritime Law and Policy, Maysha Siddika, 8th Batch, Oceanography and Hydrography, Raiyan Juhan, 5th Batch, Marine Fisheries and Aquaculture, and Taufikul Islam Ashik, 4th Batch, Department of Port and Shipping Management delivered their speech on the occasion and reminisce their participation, injury, and treatment at July uprising.
A film on the July Mass Uprising was also exhibited at the ceremony.
The chief guest respectfully remembered all the Martyrs students, including others, and those injured in the July Uprising.
He mentioned in his speech about the country`s grievous history of 1952 Language Movement, Mass Uprising of 1969, the great liberation war in 1971, Anti-dictatorship movement of the 1990s, and at last July Mass Uprising in 2024. He urged the teachers, officers, employees, and university students to try to eliminate discrimination in all fields, regardless of race, religion, or caste, and to maintain a peaceful and stable environment for the welfare and justice of the country and its people.
Finally, the ceremony was concluded with prayers and a group photograph.
