On the occasion of India's Independence Day, the import-export trade activities between India and Bangladesh through Hili land port of Dinajpur are closed. However, it is normal for passengers with passports to cross between the two countries through the Hili immigration checkpoint.
The organizing secretary of Banglahili C&F Agent Association Rabiul Islam Sweet has confirmed the stoppage of import and export of goods between the two countries through this port since yesterday morning.
He said, on the occasion of India's Independence Day, all departments of Bharat Hili Customs are closed. Due to this, the import and export trade activities between the two countries are closed through the port. After the holiday, import and export will resume from 11 am tomorrow.
Hili Immigration Checkpost OC Sheikh Ashraful said that even though the import-export trade between the two countries is closed, the passage of passengers with passports is running normal.
