A fire incident has taken place in a woodshed in the Aricha port area of Shibaloy upazila of Manikganj. 15 small and big furniture shops, a Sawmill, and a neighboring house were burnt to ashes. The incident of fire happened yesterday morning.
Locals said that a fire broke out suddenly in a wooden furniture shop. Gradually the fire spread to other shops. Later, several units of the fire service were able to bring the fire under control after a long effort of about three hours, but 15 small and big furniture shops, a sawmill, and a house next to it were already burnt down.
Godown Inspector of Shibaloy Upazila Fire Service, Md Nadir Hossain said that the fire might have been from an electrical short circuit. The detailed damage amount will be known after the investigation.
