Police have unearthed the mystery behind the murder of a farmer in Sirajganj within 72 hours. A team of district police and district detective police have arrested three killers who were directly involved in the murder. At that time, the mobile phone of the deceased was recovered from the killers.
Sirajganj Superintendent of Police Arifur Rahman Mondol disclosed the information at a press conference at the superintendent of police`s office on Thursday morning.
The arrestees were identified as Abdul Momin of Gunaigati village in Ullapara Upazila of the district. Alauddin and Sohel Rana.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Arifur Rahman Mandal said, "On The night of September 24, A. Momin, Alauddin, and Sohel Rana of the same village went out on a boat trip with Saidur Rahman of Gunaigati village of Mohanpur union of Ullapara Upazila of Sirajganj. When an argument broke out over money related to music and music in the boat, the three men killed Saidur Rahman by hitting him on the head and drowning him in the water. The body of the deceased was buried in the water with a stone tied around his neck.
After the murder, the killers demanded a ransom of Tk 1.5 lakh from the victim`s mobile phone his wife. Two days after the incident, police recovered the body of Saidur Rahman near Kumar Bridge, west of Gunaigati village in the same Upazila. A murder case was filed with Ullapara Model Police Station against unknown persons.
Additional Superintendent of Police Samiul and a team of The District Detective Police were tasked to unravel the mystery of the murder of Clueless. With the help of information technology and local sources, Sub-Inspectors Julhas Uddin (PPM, BPM), Abdul Wadud (PPM), and Assistant Sub-Inspector Mintu Sheikh (PPM) of the district detective police raided Elangjani Bazar of the same Upazila on Wednesday afternoon and arrested the three killers. Later, on the basis of the confession of the killers, the mobile phone of the deceased was recovered.
Among others, Additional Superintendent of Police (PROMOTED as Superintendent of Police) Nur Alam Siddiqui, Additional Superintendent of Police Samiul Alam, and the detective branch`s case-related team were also present at the press conference.
