A Human chain was held in Manikganj to demand the cancellation of the decision to increase the security deposit of the candidates in the upcoming upazila council elections. Bangladesh JASAD Saturia Upazila Committee organized this human chain in front of the Saturia Upazila Parishad gate yesterday morning.
Saturnia Upazila Parishad election-2024 chairman candidate Md Shahjahan Ali Saju, Bangladesh Chhatra League-BCL Manikganj district branch president Sohel Hossain, local JASAD leader Adari Bepari, Md Hasen, Dulal Hossain, Shariful Islam, Saidur Rahman Shuvo and others spoke at the meeting.
The speakers said that in the upcoming upazila parishad elections, the decision to increase the security deposit of chairman candidates from Tk 10 thousand to Tk 1 lakh, the deposit of vice chairman and female vice chairmen from Tk 5 thousand to Tk 75 thousand should be canceled immediately and the election should be held as before.
