Life Sentenced Husband arrested

Nazrul Islam, the accused who was sentenced to life for wife murder case, he was hidden more than 14 years. Barisal RAB-8 members of CPSC arrested him last Monday night from Krishnachura area of Pirojpur district headquarters. Arrested Nazrul Islam is the son of deceased Jabed Ali Khan of Chalisha area of Sadar police station of Pirojpur district.

According to RAB, on September 13, 2009, the police recovered the body of an unidentified woman with her hands tied from a pond in a place called Jharjharia Tala of Dhulyari Kadamtala village of Pirojpur Sadar police station. In that incident, the Police Station filed a murder case against the unknown accused as the plaintiff. Meanwhile, the recovered body was identified as that of Nazrul Islam's wife Nasima. And as Nazrul's involvement in the death of Nasima was proved, the court sentenced him to life imprisonment under section 302 and a fine of Tk 20,000 and another 3 months of imprisonment without labor. However, because Nazrul Islam was absconding, the court issued an arrest warrant against him at that time.
