Protest rally and human chain held in Gopalganj

Journalists working in Gopalganj have staged a protest rally and human chain program protesting the attack on East West Media Complex.

The program was organized on the road in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office yesterday. The human chain went on for an hour.

Prosun Mondal, Gopalganj district correspondent of the daily Kaler Kantha, Aminul Hasan Shahin of Bangladesh Protidin, Ekramul Kabir of banglanews24.com, SM Nazrul Islam of Jaijaidin, Samiul Alim of News24, journalist Farid Ahmed and Shawon Rajib of voluntary organization Projjalit Gopalganj spoke on the occasion.

Speakers at the rally condemned the attack or vandalism in the media office and said that the voice of journalists cannot be suppressed by attacking. We demanded that the miscreants who attacked the East West Media Complex and vandalized it and those involved in the incident should be identified immediately and brought under the law.

Journalists of different print and television media working in Gopalganj, people of different classes including Shuvo Sangha participated in the program. 

Earlier on Monday, unidentified miscreants attacked and vandalized the offices of Kaler Kantha, News24, Bangladesh Pratidin, Radio Capital and other media in Dhaka's East West Media Complex.
