Kotwali Thana Police of Faridpur arrested 6 members of the inter-district dacoit gang in raids in Narayanganj, Shariatpur and Faridpur. All those arrested used to disguise themselves as laborers during the day and engage in robbery at night.
On the night of June 14, 3 days before Eid, the gang committed a robbery at Madhuri Rani Sarkar's house in Gosai Bhabukdia village of Krishnanagar Union of Faridpur Sadar Upazila. In the case filed in that incident, the police got the suspicion of this robber after investigating. Later the police arrested six members of that group.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Morshed Alam gave this information in a press briefing organized at Faridpur Police Superintendent's office yesterday afternoon.
Among those arrested, Md Kabir Hossain, Saiful Islam alias Sayed (32) and Hriday were arrested from Araihajar area of Narayanganj district, Md Saiful Islam and Farhad Hossain were arrested from Damudya of Shariatpur and Atiyar Sheikh from Parmanandpur area of Kotwali in Faridpur.
The SP also said that there are several cases of robbery in the police stations of different districts of the country under the name of the arrested person. They disguised themselves as laborers during the day and night, and identifying themselves as laborers loading and unloading goods. He also said that the arrested will be handed over to the court yesterday. The police will request a 7-day remand for each of them.
