Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed resigned from his post. He decided to resign around 3:30 pm yesterday in the face of student movement.
The matter was confirmed by the official of the Public Relations Branch of SUST.
Earlier on Thursday, provosts, assistant provosts and members of the proctorial body of all residential halls resigned. That morning, all of them submitted their resignations to the university registrar. Earlier, the SUST students, who were protesting against discrimination, gave a 24-hour ultimatum to the university administration to resign.
Meanwhile, SUST Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Md Kabir Hossain send a message for the students. He wrote that he was ready to resign if the students wanted.
