Two people were killed after being hit by a bus of Purbasha Paribahan at Madhukhali in Faridpur.
The accident took place in Baliakandi Link Road (Divider) area of Madhukhali Bazar around 12:30 am on Thursday. Another 10 people were injured in the incident.
The deceased were identified as Miraj Hawlader, son of late Yasin Hawlader of Bandar upazila of Barishal and Sumon, son of Md Mobarak of Nalchity thana of Jhalakathi.
Miraj Hossain, officer-in-charge of Madhukhali Police Station, said a bus of Purbasha Paribahan was going to Dhaka from Chuadanga. The bus hit an easybike coming from Baliakandi Link Road on the highway while crossing Faridpur's Madhukhali Bazar area around 12:30 am. Two passengers on the easybike were killed. He said 10 injured people were rescued and sent to the hospital immediately.
The driver and the driver have been arrested. The arrested driver has been identified as Subrata Das alias Nepal Das. He is the son of Sukumar Das of Kabirpur village in Shailkupa upazila of Jhenaidah district.
